I completed to read Tolstoy’s War and Peace. The novel was quite long enough to my copy of book is worn out entirely. It takes about half a month to finish reading. I remember that I read Dostoyevsky’s The Brother Karamazov about a year ago.
I found that my reading speed in English has been somewhat improved. However I need to be careful that this does not ensure that my literacy is improved. As people often says I need to build up critical reading. Above all I need to be able to catch what the writer want to say through out the string of sentences, paragraphes, section and part.
Especially artistic works like literature tend to blur the context behind the representation. Some critics process these representation into their interpretation. So concerning critical thinking, it is better to read some critical writing critically.
The most important thing is : what I felt after reading a literature work. By comparing what I felt and some critical writings is good break point to reviewing. It also let myself delve into active learn the background of the author and the age he or she had lived.
I’ll read The Three-Body Problem written by Liu Cixin.
